PholderShare
Curate photos once into a folder per recipient, and prints get ordered and mailed on a schedule.
Django app that lets a "Sharer" curate photos from cloud storage into named virtual folders mapped to specific recipients, then automatically and recurringly submits print orders to a fulfillment lab, the sharer curates once, physical delivery repeats on a schedule.
Highlights
- Pluggable Container abstraction for photo sources (Dropbox, Picasa, FTP) and a PrintProvider interface, so fulfillment vendors can be swapped without touching order logic
- Ported the app from Python 2/South migrations to Django 5.2 / Python 3.14, regenerating migrations from scratch rather than porting incompatible history
- Uses data migrations (not fixtures) for records the app can't run without, and deferred a planned ULID migration for Photo primary keys until the schema stabilizes
- The Django port itself was mostly migration mechanics, dependency upgrades, regenerating migrations, fixing tests, not extensive hands-on use of Django's broader feature set. Real exposure, but narrow, not deep framework experience.
