MoBoS
A Schwab day-trading interface with its own order-command language, covered by 500 PHPUnit tests and 39 Behat scenarios.
PHP-based stock brokerage rapid trading tool that executes multiple complex transactions in a tight time frame.
Highlights
- PHP day-trading interface for stocks via Schwab OAuth 2.0, running on DreamHost shared hosting plus AWS backup
- Custom order-command language (BUY, SELL, SELLS, BUYC) with fixed, MAX, percent, and FixedMax quantities that auto-requeue on partial fills
- Multi-account position tracking, daily trade logging, and an abort flag that lets traders stop execution mid-loop
- Schwab API token store abstraction supports session, file, and in-memory backends; keep-alive refresh handled independently of order flow
- Genericized per-host log/URL resolution so a second deployment host picked up correct trade-log links without new hardcoded cases
- 500 PHPUnit tests making 884 assertions across 18 test classes, covering the order model, quantity calculation, OCO handling, the Schwab client, the token keep-alive and the abort flag, green in under a minute
- 39 Behat scenarios in 9 feature files walk the order loop end to end: single buy, fixed-max, percent and max quantities, sell, OCO, review mode, session transitions and margin accounts
- Real money moves through this code, so the cash-flow scenarios are written as behaviour a trader would recognise rather than as unit assertions
